Wednesday 29 March - Walking in the Andes
John Halstead Wiltshire’s region answer to David Attenborough will be giving us a breath taking talk with stunning pictures of his recent walking exhibition in the Andes. A night not to be missed given John’s previous adventures and talks. The Lysley Arms at Pewsham 7.30pm (on the A4 between Calne and Chippenham).
Sunday 23rd April - Bicester scramble on “drive it” day
This will be our first drive out of the year and coincides with drive it day. For those who have not been before, RAF Bicester is an historic 1920 bomber airfield now turned in to a centre for the restoration of cars and has become a bit of a gathering for car clubs to attend every few months on a scramble day. More details can be found at http://bicesterheritage.co.uk/ . I have arranged for our club to have their own dedicated display area, along with reduced ticket prices of £4.00 each plus the dreaded booking fee of £0.64. Click this link http://bicesterheritage.co.uk/events/sunday-scramble-drive-day/ and scroll down to where it states “purchase tickets” then click on “Buy Club Member Vehicle Tickets”
The gates open at 9.00 AM so we will meet up in the A420 Sainsbury Car park (Post code SN3 4EW) at 8.00 with the intention of leaving at 8.15 sharp. So I don’t leave anyone behind please let me know if you are coming.
Sunday 28th May - Treasure hunt
This will be limited to 13 cars due to road traffic regulations and will start from the Lysley Arms at Pewsham (on the A4 between Calne and Chippenham). This will not be a race or timed event, it will based around solving individual clues locally around the towns and village, so if you don’t know the answer you just move on to the next question. There will be small prize for the winner and no entry fee. More details to follow next month.
If you live in Wiltshire (Post Codes SN, SP and BA) and do not currently receive our monthly news letter please send a email via the contact page quoting your membership number to be added to the distribution.
